Neutrals 101: How to Make the Most Out of Your Wardrobe
What’s the secret to a great wardrobe? Lot’s of neutral staples of course!
We’re now in the age of sustainable fashion, where minimalism and capsule wardrobes are all the rage. We’re leaving fast fashion behind us in favour of creating a wardrobe with timeless and essential pieces (with the occasional trendy outfit of course!). And the best part? When you have fewer, well-made pieces, you no longer need to spend hours agonizing over what to wear (it’s also better for the earth, what more could you want?).
But making more sustainable choices isn’t always easy. Luckily, here at Covet Shoes, we’re the experts in well-made and versatile shoes. That’s why we’ve put together our top tips on creating the perfect capsule wardrobe (hallelujah)!
1. Neutrals, Neutrals, Neutrals
Neutrals are the backbone/basis of any good wardrobe and allow you to look endlessly effortless, chic and elegant.
The key to nailing a neutral outfit is to pick which neutral to focus on, white, black, grey, tan, blush or beige. Choose a few pieces (coat, pants, shoes) in this neutral to form the basis of your outfit. Mix and match different textures (denim, linen, satin) to really elevate the look. Don’t be afraid to add a pop of colour to go with your neutral base or keep it timeless with a monochromatic look. For the best neutral inspo, check out our pinterest board:
2. Statement Pieces
To make the most out of your wardrobe, make sure you have a few statement pieces that you can pair with your neutrals.
These statement pieces could be chunky jewellery, a bold sleeve or a statement hat. Everyone’s different so the trick here is to find something you love and will continue to wear!
3. Closet Essentials
